Peter Rott is Professor in Civil Law, European Private Law and Consumer Law at the University of Kassel, Germany. He graduated as a fully qualified German lawyer in 1996 and obtained his doctorate in 2001. Peter has worked in academia ever since at the University of Sheffield from (2000–2003), at the University of Bremen (2003–2010) and at the University of Copenhagen (2010–2014), amongst others.
Prof. Rott has published widely in the area of European private law, mostly with a focus on consumer law in its broadest sense. One of his current research interests is third party liability of certification organisations. He is a Member of the Board of the International Association of Consumer Law, and Lead Editor of the journal Verbraucher and Recht.
